The Risk & Insurance team at DoorDash is responsible for all things corporate insurance at the company. We are a rapidly growing and exciting function that helps DoorDash manage risk and safety with a close lens on the company's bottom line. About the Role
We are looking for a passionate Actuarial Manager who will be a member of DoorDash’s Corporate Risk & Insurance function within the Finance & Strategy team. As one of the newest members of Corporate Risk & Insurance, you’ll have the rare opportunity to improve our data capabilities and seek data-driven insights to inform our insurance risk management decisions. This includes advising operational strategy and enabling optimal structuring of insurance programs. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Actuary.

Lead various pricing analyses to inform operational strategy, enable optimal structuring of insurance programs, and support risk management initiatives.
Participate in pricing negotiations with insurance carriers to help optimize insurance spend.
Collaborate closely with senior team members to elevate monthly performance metrics and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless task execution within established timelines.
Contribute to building a high-performance team by acknowledging their strengths and motivating them to take charge of their personal development.

Flexibility, resourcefulness, optimism, grit, and a growth mindset.
7+ years of actuarial experience, 3+ years of auto insurance pricing, reinsurance pricing, or large account pricing experience.
Experience managing relationships with partners and working with all levels of an organization.
Strong Excel (or Google Sheets), SQL, and experience with ETL and Python (or R) are preferred.
Advanced visualization skills to tell compelling stories with data to senior management.
FCAS or ACAS designations.
A strong moral compass and compassion for others.
Several years of management experience (a plus).
Experience working with commercial auto insurance in a reserving and/or pricing capacity (a plus).
Prior experience working with or for a gig or sharing economy company (a plus).

Compensation
The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.
