Peraton is seeking a
Microsoft Windows Engineer
with Wintel experience to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual will have experience with Wintel Integrated Test Environment / Development Test Environment (ITE/DTE) supporting the Core Services team for operations and engineering in the test environments. The Wintel engineer will be responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of the Wintel operating systems in the test environments.Day to Day Work Responsibilities:Installing, configuring, and maintaining Wintel servers (2016-2019) in the ITE/DTE test environments
Participate in incident management activities for Wintel serversConfiguring and maintain successful backups for Wintel serversParticipate in defining Wintel server requirements, acquisition, installation, and configurationKnowledge of Microsoft administration toolsParticipate in the documentation of activities, system changes, procedures, policies, and standards for the Wintel architectureSetting up and maintaining Wintel server accountsManage installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and provide configuration and enhancementsInvolved in implementation of security measures on Wintel serversProvide technical expertise, respond to taskings, etc.Work closely with IT operation delivery teams, project managers, solution engineers, test engineers, and government counterparts to ensure approved scheduled maintenance is completedInteract with the customer on an as needed basis regarding Wintel serversCommunicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to management in a timely manner#TSAImpactQualifications
Basic QualificationsAssociate degree and 2 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 4 years' experienceU.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearanceUnderstanding of Wintel servers (2016-2019) in the ITE/DTE test environmentsKnowledge of Microsoft administration toolsStrong understanding of change, release, and configuration management, and their interactionKnowledge of Client business environment and requirementsPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of ServiceNowKnowledge of security fundamentalsKnowledge of networking fundamentalsKnowledge of cloud operationsPossess an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations 4 certification or the ability to obtain within one monthInterpersonal and communication skillsTeamwork skillsProblem-solving capabilities and use of judgmentAbility to work effectively in a distributed work environment/self-starter
