We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Communications Senior Vice President, to lead our issues management response program as part of reputation management within the global Communications team. This role is located in New York City, NY, and is a HYBRID role.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Serve as the Communications team lead for significant operational or reputational issues and/or crises, collaborating with executive leadership, communications colleagues, and functional teams and experts.
Lead the First Alert and Rapid Reputation Response communications teams that serve as the hub for setting communications strategy, message development, and distribution of content across external and internal stakeholder channels.
Work closely with BNY’s Enterprise Resiliency Office, and Corporate and Information Security teams in preparing for, and managing, unexpected or sensitive issues. Helping identify and track potential reputational issues and developing strategic communications plans and responses.
Counsel senior executives on response strategy to quickly and clearly communicate to BNY’s key stakeholders in the event of an emergency, often in a rapidly evolving situation when facts are yet to be confirmed.
Help identify, advocate and lead the adoption of new response processes and tools across the Communications team with a focus on continuous improvement.
Able to support the rest of the Communications function beyond issues management - helping manage news flow, announcements, or other projects in support of corporate priorities.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Collaborative member of the global Communications team who will partner with colleagues to protect BNY’s reputation and drive communications objectives. Establishes direction and oversees relationships with internal and external partners, including People team, Marketing, Legal and agencies.
Ability to counsel and collaborate regularly with business partners, including senior executives, demonstrating a strong business acumen and sound judgement to lead high profile situations and cultivate trust.
Strong project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines, juggle multiple priorities and execute flawlessly with great attention to detail.
Highly strategic, innovative thinker, with the ability to see emerging trends and the big picture, as well as the skills to turn ideas into actions. Ability to successfully drive initiatives from development to completion.
Demonstrates a passion for excellence and proven success developing and executing communications plans for large enterprises. Highly talented writer, editor, and storyteller with experience in finance and the ability to turn complex topics into engaging content.
Proactive and collaborative problem-solver, with exceptional communications skills, and an experienced champion of diversity of thought and inclusive practices.
A high-energy style, with the commitment and enthusiasm to take on complex, challenging situations in a dynamic, matrixed organization.
Strong people management skills and ability to lead and motivate high performance teams.
Strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills; reputation for honesty and integrity.
Minimum 12+ years of related experience, background working successfully in a multinational and matrix corporation.
Bachelor’s degree required.
