JOB TITLE:
Development & Marketing Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development and Marketing Director is a new position within our organization and offers the opportunity to build a communications and marketing program from the ground up and become a key person within our Development and Fundraising team.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS:
Full-time
SALARY RANGE:
$65,000-$72,000/year commensurate with experience
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing
Coordinate production of all solicitation materials for all campaigns.
Develop a communications and marketing plan including strategies and tools for facilitating internal and external communications.
Give presentations and attend community outreach events.
Design and create outreach and marketing materials.
Create and distribute monthly newsletters.
Digital media:
Manage all digital media, including website, social media, and mobile presence.
Monitor social media comments on the organization’s accounts to identify opportunities for community engagement or risk management.
Develop templates for the Healthy Start Coalition to use.
Development
Develop and execute the annual development/fundraising plan in conjunction with the Fundraising Committee Chair to raise vital funds in a cost effective and time efficient manner.
Identify and cultivate prospective donors.
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors.
Re-engage lapsed donors.
Create and execute communication strategies for all individual donors.
Write grant proposals and reports to foundations and other funding venues.
Secure financial and in-kind support from individuals, foundations and corporations for all fundraising and community outreach events.
Plan, organize, and manage all special events aimed at fundraising and friend-raising.
Recruit, train and manage special events volunteers.
Manage and maintain special events budgets.
Prepare all post-event correspondence.
Manage the donor database, data entry, gift processing, and gift acknowledgement.
Generate and maintain all pertinent files, records, and mailing lists.
Encourage and support board member fundraising efforts.
Attend fundraising committee meetings and assist committee chair and members.
Attend local fundraising events, business meetings and networking opportunities to establish and develop contacts.
Oversee and manage new office manager in her administrative, business and financial duties.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED (required).
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field preferred.
Previous experience in non-profit organizations preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data is entered accurately.
Ability to multi-task when necessary.
Great oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.
Must be able to analyze information and make recommendations to management as needed.
Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to maintain strict organization and client confidentiality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods of time.
Periodic need to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 20 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally performed in a fast-paced, high volume, office environment.
Must be able to tolerate frequent interruptions from clients, staff members, and others.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel to various community events may be required and may include some nights and weekends.
