Nesco Resource is hiring for our client in the Elmira area for a Inspector-Packer.This is a Permanent Full Time position Monday thru Friday1st Shift 7am to 3pm$17-$19 per hourFor immediate consideration call Nesco Resource @607.737.4010, or apply online @ Nescoresource.comJob Summary:The packer inspects and packs folding cartons, cards and folders in accordance with customer requirements as defined on the job jacket. Packers may work individually or in pairs as determined by the Supervisor or Shift Leader.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Read and understand customer requirements per the job envelope. Make certain that bottoms, dividers, corrugated and trays are available for the job (see Material Handler) Purge the area when a job is completed. Remove hampers, turn overs from machine area and dump garbage box. Return scrap carts to gluers. Truck new job into the area after it has been documented that the area has been purged as required by Pharmaceutical Packaging Procedures Compliance Records. Start the Logbook while the operator is performing the makeready. While the operator is performing the makeready, fill out the top of the First Time Quality sheet after the area is purged for the job coming into the area. Fill out the top of the Sample Sheet after the carton count is determined. Check the glue bond once per case for cartons packed 1,000 or less; check glue bond twice per case for cartons packed greater than 1000. Check for breaks, marks, excessive glue, dry glue, etc. Place the Dry Glue Marker on the belt when there is an issue with dry glue. Complete a time sheet for hours and job information. Take Q.A. samples as required. Check all label information. Verify the machine counts and carton counts.Competencies: Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and common fractions. The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Consistent regular attendance. Close attention to detail. Work in a safe and efficient manner.Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Environment:Work performed is typically at waist height on fixed machines and conveyors. Work areas are equipped with rubber mats to reduce fatigue and with portable platforms to adjust the work area for short employees. The packing process involves some reaching and bending and twisting to move cartons from the gluer belt to the carton. It is fast paced (machine driven). Packers must stand while working. The packing task involves regular grasping and pinch grip.
