The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for keeping a secure environment for our organization's security clearance operations and facilities. Their duties include:Responsibilities
Implementing and maintaining security programs that comply with applicable requirementsManaging access to restricted areas, logging entry records, and monitoring security camerasInvestigating suspicious events or behaviorProviding security training and education to staffWorking with management to develop security protocolsMaking critical security decisionsConducting security self-inspectionsApplying risk mitigation methodologiesSupporting customer assessmentsMaintaining strict confidentiality as related to all security mattersBuilding and maintaining an Insider Threat ProgramPerforming a wide variety of administrative duties in support of security procedures and requirementsReviewing and amending as needed security policies and proceduresAssisting employees with initiating, maintaining, and terminating personnel clearance actionsConducting security clearance indoctrination briefings and debriefingsCompleting required training for obtaining a JPAS account (Cybersecurity and PII)Processing visit authorization requests in JPAS for personnel for classified visitsProcessing notification letters and visit authorization requests for new Task OrdersEstablishing and maintaining effective professional working relationships with co-workers and customersFollowing policies and procedures as described in corporate manuals and directivesMaintaining PKI for JPAS (Joint Personnel Adjudication System) - Government database for all cleared people/contractorsUltimate responsibility for all cleared personnel as it pertains to getting and keeping clearancesSupporting the company as a direct advocate to DSS (Defense Security Services)FSOs need to have excellent communication skills to interact with many different people, including staff, colleagues, upper management, and external agencies.Required Skills
Independent and Self-Motivated ProfessionalMinimum of 4 years of experience overseeing the security clearances of a broad arena of government contracting programs from Public Trust, Secret, to TS/SCI security clearances.Adhere to government and company policies for standards in security clearance protocols and offer guidance and solid communication of each step-process to employees and customers.Experience serving as CSSO/CPSOStrong understanding of Physical Security requirements to include collateral Closed Areas and ICD 705 to meet contractual needsAbility to manage SAP programsThorough understanding of security databases such as JPAS, eQIP, eFCL and ISFD, Scattered Castles, etc.Administer day-to-day security programs: personnel processing, program reviews, document control system, audits & self-inspections, violation investigations & reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction/mail logs, visit certs, etc.Experience creating and conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings and refresher briefings, as appropriateAbility to develop and establish an effective security awareness, training, and education programMinimum 2 years of experience in Industrial SecurityStrong communications skills, both oral and writtenFSO certification with minimum 4 years of experience as an FSODesired SkillsPrior ISSO/ISSM or alternate ISSO/ISSM experienceKnowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection SystemsExperience with SCIF'sExperience conducting investigationsResourceful in solving problems and capitalizing on opportunitiesProfessional Certifications/AffiliationsEducation/Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Security Administration or related area and years of experience highly preferred.Benefits
