Facility Assessment Consultant

to join McKinstry as a military fellow in our growing Technical Services South team in

Austin, TX.

McKinstry supports clients and their facilities throughout the life of a building; the Technical Service team specifically focuses on the optimization and energy efficiency of existing buildings with a uniquely technical consultative approach. We work directly with owners to help them make effective decisions that improve the efficiency, comfort for occupants and lifespan of their buildings.In this role, you will conduct technical audits and develop energy models, as well as apply energy use data from facilities information systems to drive operational efficiency as part of our Active Energy Management consulting services. You will leverage your experience in problem solving, systems analysis, data analysis and communication to drive sustainability and efficiency for education, healthcare, and other large impact facilities.If you are passionate about driving sustainability in the built environment and want to make an impact with your technical expertise, this role may be the one for you. We are excited to hear from you in the hopes to bring you on not only as a steward of McKinstry but an invaluable member of our team.What You Need to Succeed:Education: BA/BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, or equivalent field of study or equivalent work experience required. A master’s degree or higher is a bonus.Experience: 3-5 years of advanced technical experience conducting and planning ASHRAE level 2 or 3 building energy audits.One of the following certifications required: PE, CEM, BOC2, EMP, CCP, EBCP, or an energy auditor/assessor/analyst certification from ASHRAE or AEE for all building types.Strong written and verbal communications experience in authoring reports on your findings and presenting to clients who may include parents, school boards, and corporate sustainability executive leadership.Passion for sustainability and energy conservation in the built environment.Creative, problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service.A creative and inquisitive mindset ready to engage your data analysis and energy modeling skills in MS Excel and/or PowerBI. Base pay information is based on market location.
