Synergy BIS is seeking a dynamic, innovative, Business Development Director to drive growth efforts focused on the Federal Civilian account space. As a key member of the growth team, this highly visible position will work with the Synergy executive team, program teams, and technology partner teams to develop relationships with customers and partners, identify, qualify, and execute opportunity capture, and drive demand creation activities to position Synergy BIS for success. The core function of this position is to synthesize customer needs, market trends, company capabilities, and relevant policies, and then translate this information into effective account development strategies and plans. This involves collaborating with other growth team members, technology leaders, and program staff. The ideal candidate should also have a strong customer success focus, as it is crucial to effectively communicate issues and identify how customers can leverage Synergy BIS's capabilities to address their current and future challenges.
Responsibilities
:
Identify and develop Federal Civilian pipeline with a focus on software development, low-code no-code platform, cloud, and AI opportunities Develop and execute strategic and tactical contact and qualification plans for the capture of key opportunities Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and develop marketing strategies Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies and lead phase reviews Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities Support creation and execution of multi-year business development strategies Participate in R&D and B&P planning efforts Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of relevant BD experience to include meaningful Federal Civilian expertise. Prior military of civilian services may be substituted. Demonstrated experiences in bringing delivering technology solutions to Federal Government Track record of success in leading and winning contracts >$50M Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders within defense and intelligence community Experience leading opportunity captures including developing overall win strategy; shaping deals with customers; developing teaming strategies, identifying and closing with teammates; and understanding pricing and assist in developing winning price Demonstrated background in solution selling and developing new markets with proven leadership from inception to fruition of a strategic campaign Direct and support new business development opportunities to improve the company's business portfolio to include marketing and customer call plans Ability to develop, document, and execute a plan for achieving awards/growth Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market Excellent writing communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline. Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience briefing senior executives on functional areas of expertise Experience with information security regulations or regulatory bodies Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Possession of excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision making, planning, organizational, and client facilitation skills Possession of excellent interpersonal skills, including comprehension, conflict resolution, teamwork, and relationship building skills Possession of excellent client-ready verbal and written communication skills Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
