Senior Product Designer

Identify and improve critical aspects of our growth and conversion product experiences that enable subscription purchases, promotion redemption, and upgrades. Support iOS, Android, or web projects. Partner with fellow designers and researchers to uncover challenges that users have throughout their relationship with the company, and use these findings to inform design decisions. Pair with engineering partners to ensure the quality of shipped features and partner with product designers, product teams and user researchers on initiatives that will help the New York Times reach its product goals. Collaborate on high-level product strategy, ensuring the right questions are asked and solving for distinct needs. Ensure design quality and consistency of shipped flows and interactions. Create documentation to lead conversations, build consensus, and help make decisions. Take product ideas and hone them into multiple solutions and concrete approaches, then collaboratively narrow ideas and establish requirements. Contribute to team and product design rituals. Nurture our design team, with an eye towards inspiring and mentoring teammates and enhancing processes and documentation. Role holder can be hybrid and/or remote upon manager approval but must be able to commute to the office.SALARY:$118,000 to $140,000 per yearRequirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Design, Interactive Arts and Technology or related field. Must have 2 years of experience in: growth industry; designing digital web or app products; designing interactive products and/or tools; and with Figma or similar tool. Must have a portfolio of work that demonstrates understanding of user-centered design principles and showcases your problem-solving process along with finished design work. Role holder can be hybrid and/or remote upon manager approval but must be able to commute to the office.
