The Senior SPY Strategist will lead our business strategy to grow market share in this market segment for State Street Global Advisors. The role is based in New York, NY or Boston, MA.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strategic and team-first approach to growing our market share in SPY, working collaboratively across our distribution, marketing, sales research & strategy, capital markets, and product teams. The role will be crucial in bringing together stakeholders to create a cohesive strategic plan, executing on this plan, and reporting on progress or making proactive changes where desired results are not being achieved. The candidate will bring expertise and practical experience in capital markets and derivatives. More specifically, will have deep expertise in the market dynamics that impact why clients and market participants use ETFs versus other derivative instruments.
Qualifications:
The candidate will have experience developing and executing on business strategy related to revenue and/or market share.
Track record of working collaboratively across multiple teams, ideally related to ETFs or derivative markets.
Deep knowledge of derivative and delta one markets, particularly options, futures, and swaps.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex investment topics.
ETF or derivative sales and/or trading experience preferred; business strategy in this market will also be considered.
Strong understanding of market dynamics impacting derivatives markets and ETFs.
Strong understanding of bank regulatory capital constraints that may impact their ability to hold ETFs vs other instruments.
Responsibilities:
Be responsible for developing a business strategy related to growing market share in select products, working very closely with colleagues in distribution, marketing, sales research & strategy, capital markets, and product to create a cohesive plan, execute on this plan, and report on its progress.
Be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders to support their part in the broader strategy and bring new perspectives and expertise to the business that can help improve or create new thought leadership, client positioning, product enhancements, and more.
Understand and communicate on market dynamics influencing ETF flows and the actions being taken across the business to grow market share.
Education & Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 10+ years of markets experience.
CFA or CAIA, and/or MBA preferred.
Deep knowledge of derivative and delta one markets, particularly options, futures, and swaps.
ETF or derivative sales and/or trading experience preferred; business strategy in this market will also be considered.
Current securities licenses (Series 7, 63, and 24) preferred or the ability to attain.
Track record of collaboration with intentional mindset to partner and build business outcomes.
Strong organizational, time management, and relationship management skills.
Ability to drive results and operate independently.
Clean compliance and U4 record required.
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $202,500 Annual. The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
