Under minimal technical direction, support sourcing and procurement related projects requiring advanced analytical and technical skills that align with company strategies, including Supplier Diversity, while incorporating best practices. Along with owning Supplier Diversity initiatives for CNA including implementation, change management, and reporting, this role may lead projects with small to moderate resource requirements, risks, and/or complexity. Evaluate spend analyses and recommendations, devise and implement strategies from process optimization, manage programs, and engage with stakeholders across the enterprise.
JOB DESCRIPTION:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead small to moderate project related activities to support procurement technology solutions, supplier relationship management, drive purchasing and supplier engagement opportunities that further develop strategic sourcing plans.
Evaluate opportunities to standardize and incorporate leading practice into procurement policies and procedures.
Collaborate with business partners across the organization to improve how operational metrics are gathered, stored and analyzed. Interact and collaborate with multiple business units to gather information, perform analysis, and make recommendations on complex issues to management to drive supplier spend visibility.
Support complex system configuration efforts, including system administration, and oversee business requirement mapping to ensure spend is flowing through appropriate channels. Review and provide recommendations on how to address trends and complex gaps in supplier performance which require sophisticated analytical and problem solving techniques.
Lead cross-functional team meetings, actively seek out and incorporate feedback to resolve technology, process or procedure issues.
Stay up to date on trends and developments within procurement technologies to better satisfy customer needs and achieve business goals and inform program and policy changes for both Procurement and Supplier Diversity.
Through complex analysis, provide recommendations on how the Procurement Innovation function can continuously improve to create roadmaps aligned with the future vision of Procurement strategies.
Participate in defining the issues and scope of assigned projects, determine approach and methodology, as well as provides direction and strategy.
Coach less experienced team members while fostering a positive and open team environment.
Evaluate run the business activities for offshoring support (e.g. dashboarding, quarterly reporting supplier diversity support, procurement buyer activity, etc.)
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Reporting RelationshipsTypically Manager or above.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Advanced technical knowledge of corporate procurement and supply chain practices, procedures and principles as they relate to the organization business unit and industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems including processing systems and applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously to drive innovation initiatives.
Ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently.
Proven thought leadership and ability to provide informal guidance to more junior team members.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, in related discipline preferably supply chain or business management.
Typically a minimum of 7 years related work experience.
