ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a highly technical, strategic casualty claims manager to lead a team of claim adjusters handling moderate to high exposure personal injury claims.
The
Claims Manager
will be responsible for managing and leading a group of Claims Adjusters handling property/casualty claims, primarily moderate to high exposure personal injury claims.
Key Functions
will include but not be limited to:
Provide technical claims oversight and direction to adjusters on moderate to complex claim matters
Ensure that adjusters are proactively and quickly driving claims resolutions that represent outstanding results for our insureds and our company
Participate in the development of the strategic plan for the personal injury claims team
Contribute to the design and execution of personal injury Claims Best Practices
Ensure all case reserves are timely and adequate
Develop metrics to measure unit and individual adjuster performance
Deliver an outstanding customer experience, ensure proactive communication with clients regarding claim status, settlement strategies, and potential outcomes
Ensure all claims are compliant with company reporting requirements and regulatory mandates, identify and mitigate potential risks and issues of non-compliance
Drive automation of key processes to realize cost, time, accuracy, quality improvement, and performance optimization
Ensure all adjusters properly assess and respond to demands within policy limits
Review and respond to reserve and settlement authority requests
Partner with claim leaders to develop, improve, and drive claim resolution strategies
Provide subject matter expertise on technical claim technical and litigation issues
Act as key decision maker in determining the value of claims, development of resolution strategies and identifying what resources are needed to execute that strategy and ultimate the manner of disposition
Identify opportunities and risks associated with changes in the external environment, looking forward 2–5 years
Assess policy forms, products/services and make recommendations re same to leadership team
Take action to mitigate bad faith, extracontractual, social inflation, and nuclear verdict exposure
Ensure that appropriate documentation, implementation and communication of established policy, procedures and operating standards is completed for area of responsibility; regularly monitors and evaluates activities to identify potential risks and issues of non-compliance.
Oversee use of performance management process in area of responsibility and complete performance management cycle for direct reports
Optimize staff development and retention
Conduct quarterly and monthly meetings with clients to discuss status on open claims and overall claims experience
Qualifications
BA Degree
5+ years technical claims management experience, preferably in the personal injury space
Commercial auto experience a plus
Self-motivated and results oriented
Honest, Reflective, Courageous, Collaborative, Impactful, Positive, Self Aware
