Senior Accountant , you'll prepare, analyze, and interpret the general ledger and financial statements within your assigned functional area or department and provide guidance on financial operations. Our integrity and high-quality work of analyzing financial data ensure we accurately reflect the transactions across our businesses. Through a strategic long-term view and compliance with accounting standards, we help position our business leaders to make better and timely decisions that achieve our goals.WHAT OUR SENIOR ACCOUNTANTS ENJOY MOSTPreparing month-end journal entries from accounting transactions over the calendar month including A/R and Bank Reconciliations, operating accruals, and misc. revenue.Reviewing assigned intermediate to complex ledgers to understand the variances both in trends and to budget and being prepared to present the financial statements to the accounting manager.Providing insight into the variances of assigned ledgers including communicating with Field KMA personnel on accounting related issues, completing monthly KMA variance reports, supporting the KPMG audit process, and providing specific required analysis on assigned areas. Completing filings for assigned areas including semi-annual copyright filings and business licenses.Updating all required schedules for maintaining the balance sheet, completing bank and accounts receivable reconciliations.Being responsible for compliance with SOX controls.Reviewing transactional level detail including accounts payable transactions and adjusting the ledger accordingly.Performing other duties as requested.As a member of the Spectrum team, your work in Financial Accounting plays a crucial role in keeping our company at the forefront of the telecommunications industry. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasksAbility to prioritize and organize effectivelyAbility to read, write and to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional and pleasant mannerAbility to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)Ability to work independentlyKnowledge of cable television products and services
