JOB SUMMARY
:Barrow Brain and Spine (BBS) is hiring a motivated Physical Therapist to work in a growing outpatient clinic. We are a team of experienced Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Technicians who value a multi-disciplinary approach, working closely with many other healthcare professionals at BBS, as well as outside of BBS, to aid our patients in achieving the best possible outcomes. Our patient population consists of a wide range of orthopedic diagnoses, with a slightly increased emphasis on spine. We place great value on providing a high quality of care for every patient through a comprehensive approach, including (but not limited to) manual therapy, individualized exercise programs, functional movement analysis, etc. To achieve and maintain this high quality of care, we utilize weekly clinical in-service opportunities to continue building the skills of our team members. :Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, calculator, and other office equipmentNormal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reportsTYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an outpatient facility, with consistent contact with patients, office staff, physicians, etc.JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.Reviews physician's referral (when available) and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data and diagnoses.Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various physical activities, such as ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in use of assistant and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.Administers treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment, such as moist packs, cold packs, and ultrasound machines.Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.Monitors use of electronic modalities and the DRX machine (location dependent).Administers traction to relieve pain when deemed appropriate.Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chartInstructs patient (and family) in treatment procedures to be continued at home.Evaluates, adjusts, and recommends modifications for prosthetic and orthotic devices (if applicable)Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggests revisions in treatment program, and integrates physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.May plan and conduct lectures and training programs on physical therapy and related topics for PT techs, medical staff, students, and community groups.Fosters the success of the BBBS Compliance program. Maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures.Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.Maintains confidentiality with regard to both patient and staff meetings and participates in special committeesOther duties and assignments as necessaryPERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Active Physical Therapist license.Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.1-2 years experience (preferred)Experience treating a wide range of spine conditions (preferred, but still expected to treat all body parts/areas)
