Position Summary:
The
Senior Computer Vision Engineer
will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge machine vision solutions for SectionStar, a mechatronic device. This role is multi-disciplinary with responsibility for solving complex problems related to automated inspection, robotics, and computer vision. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of contributing to innovation in areas like manufacturing automation, quality control, and advanced imaging systems. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop machine vision algorithms for object detection, segmentation, classification, tracking, and inspectionWork clo s ely with hardware, software, and robotics teams to integrate machine vision systems into broader automation frameworksLead the planning, execution, and delivery of machine vision projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelinesImprove the performance of machine vision systems by refining algorithms for accuracy, speed, and efficiencyCreate prototypes, run simulations, and conduct unit and system testing to validate performance of machine vision solutions in real-world environmentsAnalyze imaging data to improve system performance and to train machine learning models for improved accuracy and automationProvide guidance and technical mentorship to junior engineers and team membersKeep up-to-date with the latest advancements in computer vision, machine learning, and automation technologiesQualifications:
Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field5+ years of experience in classical image processingPrior experience performing hardware optimization of code across both CPU and GPU architectures for improved performance and efficiencyProven track record of delivering successful computer vision projects from concept to implementationStrong programming skills in both low-level (C++) and high-level languages (Python, MATLAB) with the ability to process large- scale image datasets using Linux/BashExpertise in machine vision libraries, such as OpenCVExperience with image processing techniques, pattern recognition, and feature extractionProficiency with camera technologies, lighting techniques, optics, and sensor integrationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to lead and work within cross-functional teamsAttention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality resultsFamiliarity with deep learning / neural networks a plusExperience in industrial automations, or robotics a plusPrior experience working with hardware-software integration for vision systems a plusFamiliarity with real-time image processing and optimization for embedded systems a plusExpertise in Digital Pathology and Machine Vision for the automation of medical diagnostic processes a plusExperience working within environments that adhere to data security protocols and HIPAA requirements a plusOther Information:
