POSITION OVERVIEW
The Design Manager will help oversee the design aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. S/he will effectively collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure that the design aligns with the project's objectives and meets the client's expectations. This position is on-site in our San Francisco office, with related job-site presence as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to help ensure that the project's design intent satisfies the Owner and contractual requirements, including the project's functional and aesthetic goals while meeting the construction budget and overall schedule.Facilitate and integrate the design concepts into reality by coordinating with various teams, including trade partners.Coordinate the interface and communication between the Owner, stakeholders, the Builder, and the Design team.Manage design processes, resources, and risks by developing comprehensive design schedules and organizational systems to help ensure that each phase of the project is executed within the allocated timeframeEnsure compliance with regulations and standards, including all legal requirements, building codes, and safety standards.Overcome challenges in construction design implementation through advanced problem-solving and innovative solutions.Balance creativity and budgetary limitations to help ensure that designs are not only visually appealing, but also financially feasible.Keep up with ever-evolving trends and innovations of the AEC industry.REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in architecture, engineering, or related field.5+ years of related experience in designing construction projects through various design phases.Outstanding communication, both written and verbal, across all levels.Growth-oriented to keep up with current and future design trends and innovations.Impeccable attention to detail.Reads, understands and interprets schematics, drawings, and project manual and specifications and encompasses the technical knowledge to determine appropriate construction means and methods.Solid computer skills with a working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Procore, Bluebeam, Construction Management Software as well as MS Office, (Outlook, Project, Excel, and Word).Working knowledge of the California Building Code, ADA and applicable local and state building codes.
$135,000 - $150,000 a year
