TITLE:Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A)
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Associate Degree for Speech Language Assistant or
Bachelors Degree in Communication Disorders
2. Eligible for South Dakota SLP-A licensure when it becomes available
3. Desire to work with young students with autism spectrum disorders within the school setting
REPORTS TO: Dir. of Special Services and District Autism Specialist
Performance Responsibilities:
Provide direct therapy or ABA/Discrete trial training following the plan written by Autism specialistAssist with speech, language, and hearing screenings as neededAssist Autism specialist during student assessmentsDocument student performance and report information to Autism Specialist and SLPAssist with informal documentation as directed by Autism SpecialistPerform clerical duties (scheduling, material preparations, record keeping, equipment maintenance, etc)Support the Autism Specialist with in-service training, public relations programs, and research projectsDemonstrate compliance with regulations, reimbursement requirements, district policies, and SLP-A's job responsibilities.Performs other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment: Wages, benefits, and terms to be established by the Board of Education
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the School Board's policy on evaluation of classified staff.
