Salary:
Drivers in Training will receive $22.98 hour plus benefits/ Range 23 Additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recent Greeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $36.84 per hour plus benefits
Once training is completed, Bus Drivers will receive $24.22 an hour plus benefits/ Range 25 Additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recent Greeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $38.84 per hour plus benefits
All new drivers are eligible for a one-time $1,000 bonus, payable 3 months after training is completed (must be continuously employed upon completion of training) OR Drivers who are hired with the appropriate CDE and/or CDL endorsements are eligible for a one-time $3,000 bonus, payable 3 months after training is completed (must be continuously employed upon completion of training) Drivers who work the following months will be eligable to receive $250 retention bonuses?
November-January: $250 (paid February 2025) February-April: $250 (paid May 2025) May: $250 (paid in June 2025)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required:
High school diploma or GED Valid Colorado driver's license School transportation vehicle operator's permit Must be 21 years of age Must complete a minimum of 40 hours of initial training at District 6 expense and 28 Hours of retraining each year thereafter A physical examination - required each year Safe driving record Preferred:
CPI training (Can obtain certification after hire) CPR/First AID Training (Can obtain certification after hire) Current CDE certification. (Can obtain certification after hire)
JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective:
Responsible for operating a school transportation vehicle over an assigned route abiding by all rules and regulations for the safety of the passengers as set forth by the district, state and federal government agencies.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for operating a transportation vehicle over a scheduled route as directed. Performs a pre-trip inspection assuring that all equipment, including safety devices, is in a safe and proper operating order. Maintains and promotes a professional and defensive driving attitude at all times. Responsible for maintaining proper student behavior as required to transport passengers safely. Reports immediately (by radio or telephone) any emergencies, breakdowns or delays while en-route including student discipline problems. Responsible for reporting all accidents, driving hazards and incidents of damage or vandalism as soon as possible. Prepares and submits daily report. Responsible for the interior and exterior cleanliness of the transportation vehicle. May be requested to do night driving, weekend driving and special daytime trips. May be requested to drive athletic, activity and special trips as assigned by the supervisor. Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important. Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs and upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Applicant must have the ability to effectively relate in a positive manner with staff, students and the public; ability to perform all functions of the position.
