Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science seeks a dynamic and energetic Recruitment Specialist to support and enhance our Enrollment Management Department. In this role, you will drive recruitment efforts and provide administrative support. You will cultivate relationships with prospective students and ensure a seamless application experience.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Recruitment Specialist will represent Charles. R Drew University of Medicine and Science at high school/community college visits, college nights/fairs, and transfer days/fairs as assigned. The Recruitment Specialist will assist with planning visits to schools, schedule and make presentations, and follow-up visits; identify potential students, provide information about higher education generally, and CDU, specifically; and behave in a manner that promotes goodwill on behalf of the University.

The Recruitment Specialist will recruit, advise, and evaluate admissions requirements for prospective students to CDU. Educates the public (including K-12, Community College, Community Based Organizations, and CDU stakeholders) about admissions requirements, policies, and processes and developing and implementing programs for student recruitment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Create an outreach strategy for assigned territory in collaboration with the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions.

· Engage with prospective students through various communication channels (phone, Zoom, In-person, email) to build relationships and generate interest in all CDU programs.

· Gather leads from events and outreach efforts, while maintaining an updated lead list to drive application submissions.

· Collaborate with other higher education institutions and community college partners to organize and host informational events and expand recruiting opportunities.

· Assist in the planning and implementation of on and off-campus special events, including CDU Days, College Fairs, and on-campus events.

· Participate in various virtual student recruitment and outreach campaigns.

· Manage your travel calendars, logistics, and arrangements for all off-campus recruitment outreach.

· Support daily outreach work including phone duty, counter duty, presentations, and student advising

· Conduct follow-up visits and plan and implement yield activities in the Spring

· Use social media to generate interest in CDU programs, and market CDU programs to prospective students

· Manage outreach efforts by keeping a record of all recruiting and outreach events for WASC reporting.

· Conduct school visitations and attend college fairs, transfer days

· Provide additional support as needed to support the admissions and onboarding processes.

· Provide workshops, and presentations, and conduct individual and group pre-admissions advising sessions, both on and off campus, and preliminary transcript evaluations

· Conduct recruitment activities within the outreach territory developed for growing our pipeline (up to 80% travel at peak times to off-campus schools or community sites, conferences, etc..)

· Required to travel to off-campus locations for special activities or conferences

· Must transport outreach materials to and from the site; must load and unload materials weighing up to 50 pounds each.

Budgeted Salary : $66,560 - $68,640 annually

EDUCATION:

Requires a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years related experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS (IF APPLICABLE):

· Valid California Driver’s License

EXPERIENCE:

· 2-4 years of experience in sales, customer service, admissions, or similar roles requiring strong relationship-building skills in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Proficiency:

Proficiency in Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM systems is preferred.

· Must be flexible to work evenings, and weekends, and travel for recruitment and professional development.
