The Opportunity
The Treasury Analyst is a critical member of a small team purposed with providing treasury and investment services to the entire UT system (including all campuses and units). This position reports directly to UT System Treasurer and supports both the Treasurer and Senior Director for Financial/Treasury Operations in administering the online treasury management system, creating and completing documentation necessary to open/close bank accounts and banking services, and assisting in the cash management process. Additionally, this position will assist in setting up and reviewing wires, and provide back-up support to both the University's merchant services and charitable trust operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Banking and cash management operation
Continually assesses Treasury procedures and practices and recommends policy improvements to the Treasurer and Senior Director for Financial/Treasury OperationsSupports the review of bank compensation and feesSupports the management of the cash management investment pool covering over $1.8 billion in commercial paper, US govt and GSE bondsOversees wire transfer management including domestic and international wires exceeding $200 million annuallyCo-administer University Treasury OPs portal under the guidance of the Senior Director of Financial/Treasury OperationsAssists with University's ACH security and complianceProvides treasury and banking knowledge to assist with the design and implementation of system financial initiativesAnalyzes account statements for pricing complianceCompletes annual collateral pool verificationResponsible for the detection of unauthorized bank accounts
Providing limited backup support to the Trust and Treasury Analyst on trust administrationProviding limited backup support to the Merchant Services Coordinator on merchant services/PCI DSS complianceOther related duties as assignedQualifications:
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is required. One to two years of experience with treasury and/or financial operations or finance-related internships and a related degree and experience with Bloomberg financial data system in an academic or project-based setting is also required.
Additional skills, experiences, and qualifications include:
Knowledge of treasury operations and servicesKnowledge of banking, payment, and information systemsWorking knowledge of investments and finance with the ability to accurately calculate investment returnsBasic fund accounting knowledge and skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammatical proficiencyAdvanced skills in Microsoft software, including Excel, Word, and PowerpointSelf-motivated with the ability to work well independently
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of experience in treasury/financial operations/institutional investments, financial accounting, and higher ed treasury/financial operations is preferred.
Experience preparing reports, presentations, and summaries for senior leaders and third parties and experience with integrated treasury management systems is also preferred.
