The Senior Designer is an experienced, idea-driven, conceptual thinker who excels at translating design strategy into creative solutions for cohesive experiences in the omni-channel space across the Newell Brand portfolio. This position plays a crucial role in integrating Generative AI into creative design and innovation processes utilizing Adobe products. This position requires a strong grasp of traditional graphic design principles and a keen interest in emerging AI technologies. The successful candidate will help transform how the company approaches graphic design, enhancing creativity and efficiency. By leveraging Generative AI, the Senior Designer will optimize design workflows, contribute to reducing time to market for new graphics, and improve overall productivity within the design team. This integration of AI is essential for maintaining a competitive edge and delivering superior customer-centric design solutions.
Responsibilities:
Support AI-driven initiatives and help identify areas where AI can enhance creative processes.
Research and recommend how Adobe tools can integrate into creative workflows.
Participate in training sessions on AI tools and continuously develop skills to leverage these tools effectively.
Work with Design and Marketing teams to integrate AI-driven graphic design insights into various projects.
Train the Adobe large language models on brand guidelines and templates for top brands.
Support and recommend the parameters and specs in the APIs for producing content at scale.
Serves as a SME for the Adobe tools and use cases.
Engage in cross-functional AI projects, providing design expertise as needed.
Assist in pilot projects to test and refine AI applications within the design process.
Promote AI benefits within the design team, participating in workshops and presentations.
Stay informed on the latest advancements in AI and design, sharing insights with the team.
Use AI tools to analyze customer preferences and behaviors, incorporating these insights into graphic design projects.
Help position the company as an innovator in AI-driven design by showcasing successful AI projects utilizing Adobe tools.
Execute the visual articulation (style and tone) of brand strategy, initiatives, objectives, and goals through best-in-class design solutions.
Lead brainstorming sessions with the creative design team to generate creative ideas.
Effectively present creative concepts to internal teams, with mastery of recommendations and thoughtful rationale.
Maintain knowledge of creative marketing trends and best practices.
Conceptualize, design, and execute omni-channel assets for print and digital channels (including website and emails with a mobile-first lens).
Evaluate provided creative briefs to ensure information is understood and actionable prior to executing design work. Self-manage execution to brief and recommend design approaches to the Manager, Creative.
Execute and apply brand style guide elements, including logo, product branding, typography, packaging, photography, and activation materials, ensuring consistency with brand positioning. Construct and document new brand standards as needed.
Prepare final assets according to specific print production guidelines at high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and replication.
Direct and lead AI-assisted or digital-twin based brand and product CGI, photo and video shoots (direction, storyboards) with the consult of the Manager, Creative.
Collaborate with peers to share best design practices across the organization. Work with copywriters and user experience experts to seamlessly create supporting graphics for different types of product/content experiences.
Mentor fellow designers through meaningful critiques and other opportunities to share design knowledge and experience.
Make proactive recommendations to streamline and improve creative processes.
Perform other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
University degree or college diploma in graphic design, art, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
5-7+ years of experience in a creative/graphic design position, and/or executing digital commercial assets for email, websites, and social media.
Experience in the creative development and related executions for a brand.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Firefly, Premier, and Experience Manger, and Workfront.
Highly detail-oriented and passionate about design, with a solid understanding of industry trends and marketplace.
Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills. Strong presentation skills.
Ability to understand priorities and juggle projects as needed to meet deadlines.
Remains calm under pressure and elevates problems to leadership if necessary.
Pragmatic with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate passion for a brand, drive consensus, and foster creative collaboration.
Team player with enthusiasm, working directly with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong time management skills. Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility within tight deadlines.
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic principles of UX/UI.
Hands-on understanding of front-end development and responsive design preferred.
Video editing/motion graphics experience preferred.
