This is a Hybrid role based out of one of our offices located in New York, New York, Fountain Valley, California or Loveland, Colorado.
The Target Pay Range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Job Purpose/Overview
Develop, implement and manage strategic sourcing initiatives based upon variable market conditions and demand for Science and Diagnostics, Inc.
Responsible for developing sourcing strategies (regional/global), managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the supply chain is efficient and cost-effective. Leading cost analysis (TCO), evaluating market opportunities, driving negotiation processes, and executing purchase agreements within the Consumables & Equipment category. Support Procure to Pay (P2P) systems, identify and deliver savings initiatives, and ensuring stakeholder needs are met by effectively leveraging supplier relationships or strategic partnerships to support the drive for standardization and cost reduction across Science and Diagnostics business globally.
Category includes areas of capital equipment, reagents, consumables and others within the Global footprint for Science and Diagnostics, Inc.,
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy Creation and Development
Define global category strategy using Mars Strategic Sourcing Methodology (MSSM) process.
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies.
Deploy global/regional strategy in collaboration with business stakeholders. Measure efficiency of deployed strategies and ensure global Business continuity.
Accountable for sustainable and responsible sourcing in category.
Ensure compliance with proper procedures, policies (Supplier Code of Conduct), systems and controls.
SPRM: Supplier Performance Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to improve their value to the business.
Negotiate robust contracts and pricing agreements to achieve optimal terms and conditions and frame long-term relationships. Manage contract related issues.
Monitor supplier performance(QBRs/MBRs) and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
Identify, engage and develop relationships with diverse suppliers.
Stakeholder’s Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Understand business needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly.
Provide expert advice and support to internal stakeholders on category-related matters.
Lead and/or participate in cross-functional projects to improve procurement processes and drive innovation.
Key Stakeholders: R&D, Laboratory Operations, Leadership and others.
Value Delivery
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements in the procurement of laboratory consumables and equipment.
Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to support pricing and purchasing decisions.
Conduct global cost out initiatives to deliver a target of 5% P&L annual savings.
Lead P2P process with a focus on efficiency and process improvements.
Responsible for reporting of savings and value delivered to the business.
Support Innovation
Upstream involvement in innovative projects.
Frame the commercial aspect of supplier innovation projects.
Proactively support efficiencies and synergies with cross-segment peers in similar roles.
Influence clients to align with regional and global buying strategies.
Education and Experience
5+ years of buying experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated successful performance in role of similar scope and breadth.
Expertise for indirect and/or direct categories. Laboratory experience preferred.
Proven Change Management and Project Management skills.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in complex and/or ambiguous business environments.
Proven results in developing sourcing strategies, negotiating, contracting and generating savings and/or value for business.
History of building strong client and supplier relationships.
Travel
Will there be notable travel in this position? Occasional Percent of time: Up to 15-20%
Working Conditions
The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding. The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to hear and speak in order to use the telephone, make presentations and communicate with people in an office or virtual environment. The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment or a remote home office. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, video conferencing and the Internet. The associate is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system. The associate must occasionally use media equipment such as an overhead projector, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams. Environment where pets are present
