Overview
The role of a Worker’s Compensation Manager is to ensure that employees injured on the job receive timely and appropriate medical treatment to allow them to return to work in a safe and healthy manner. This role also includes oversight of unemployment insurance claims.
Responsibilities
Report workers’ compensation claims to the company’s workers’ compensation insurance.
Maintain accurate and confidential workers’ compensation claim files.
Build and maintain relationships with adjusters, account managers, brokers and insurance carriers.
Recommend solutions to complex claims that may involve coverage and compensability disputes.
Manage workers' compensation claim investigations, settlements and litigation.
Serve as primary liaison for unemployment insurance carrier to manage unemployment claim costs.
Serve as focal point of contact for employees with workers' compensation claims and assists with questions concerning workers' compensation claim submittal, case management, benefits, medical treatment, etc.
Obtain and provide, where appropriate, authority for claim settlement or closure and communicates to legal representation and/or third party claims administrator (TPA).
Build on workers’ compensation programs such as return to work, preferred medical provider organizations, etc. to reduce the cost of workers’ compensation claims.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation law and/or management
Some experience with managing unemployment claims
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make decisions and manage time with multiple high-priority tasks
Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions.

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$82,324.46 to $109,765.95
Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
