Description
The Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) team's charter is to protect Amazon customers from products that are illegal, illegally marketed, unsafe, or otherwise prohibited by Amazon policies. RISC Risk Manager will be a part of the Business and Legal Support (BLS) team which provides strategic support for high-priority requests from legal partners, regulators, law enforcement, and business. In this role the PM will drive short-term solutions for immediate issues, and find long-term solutions to address the root cause. They will bring together legal, technical, and business stakeholders to help drive engagements with key regulators and business partners.
Key job responsibilities
• Responsible for coordinating cross-functional responses to inquiries from regulators, law enforcement, and internal teams regarding restricted products
• Define, develop, and manage mechanisms to facilitate rapid response to inquiries and escalations
• Regularly assess and lead strategic remediations related to deficiencies identified in inquiries
• Perform analysis of data from a variety of sources to identify possible risk indicators.
• Perform incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact, identifying the specific vulnerability, and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation. Perform escalation trend analysis and reporting.
• Coordinate with Legal teams to support pro-active stakeholder engagement with timely data and analysis
• Analyzing escalations from various sources within Amazon to determine possible root causes and identifying preventative actions.
• Work with a wide range of cross-functional teams to communicate Amazon's compliance strategies to regulators and other external stakeholders
• Communicate regularly with leadership and ensure consistent reporting against regulatory and business commitments
• Develop and present deep-dive documents and reports on policy and process gaps to senior executives.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of program or project management experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience handling confidential information
Previous experience leading compliance programs and/or time-sensitive regulatory engagements
Demonstrated ability to source and analyze data to drive business reporting
Experience delivering initiatives from conception through completion
Experience leading process management and process improvement initiatives
Proven ability to define strategies in order to solve ambiguous problems
Experience preparing reports identifying findings and providing recommended remediation strategies and solutions
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical subject matter to a diverse group of stakeholders
Demonstrated experience setting direction and delivering detail-oriented results in environments with frequently shifting priorities
Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position
Experience with large scale e-commerce platforms including systems involving complex business logic
Experience in operations, investigations, risk management, incident or crisis management, or handling escalations
Experience working in law, compliance, regulatory or a related field
Experience working with geographically distributed teams within a complex international organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
