Meta is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer Intern to join our Hardware Platform team. Our team is responsible for designing and validating general AI, compute, storage platforms and networking, power systems to support our fast growing infrastructure demand at scale. Throughout the internship, the intern will be involved in the design process, work closely with other team members to thoroughly validate our customized server, networking, or power systems and drive a project in the hyper-scale hardware space. This role will provide the intern with an opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience and solve open ended challenges to further build upon the intern's skills while being given close mentorship from peers.
Electrical Test Engineer Intern Responsibilities
Become familiar with server, networking, or power architecture and hardware designDeep dive into operational theory of circuits, power electronics, and/or signal integrityRoot cause hardware failures at Meta's lab and/or data centers by working with peers and external vendorsDevelop test plans, execute validation, and publish findings to the teamIdentify high impact problems and introduce at-scale solution with the support from the teamMinimum Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fieldExperience with electrical test lab equipment (e.g. Oscilloscope, Analyzers, DMM, AC and DC Power Sources, electronic load, etc.)Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware issues at board levelKnowledge of using Linux or similar operating systems and scripting experienceMust obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employmentPreferred Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Masters, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fieldExperience with computer, server, or networking system architectureExperience with CAD software for schematics, PCB layout, or SI/PI simulationPrior experience in hardware design and electrical validationDetail oriented, collaborative, and communications skillsIntent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
