Responsible for the technical leadership, execution, and delivery of next generation software defined infrastructure. In this role you will be critical in driving the performance, efficiency, and accountability of our Wide Area Network (WAN) and telecommunications management. You will deliver solutions to address complex technical and business needs. Create automation around network performance, network trends, and network costs.
This position will challenge your skills to ensure the network WAN is performing at its most efficient level. In addition, you will leverage skills in development to improve network performance and management.
This job is a member of the Global Network Delivery Team within the Information Technology Division.
What you'll do
Architect, develop, and maintain software solutions that drive automation for network inventory (LAN, WAN, Application, Telecom, Expenses, etc.).
Develop code to extract data from tooling sources and/or network devices to recommend improvements that enhance resiliency and cost-efficiency within the WAN environment.
Collaborate with IT personnel and stakeholders to proactively identify risks and develop solutions to prevent network issues.
Maintain and integrate Python and Low Code/No Code solutions into Power BI and other tools to improve data visualization and network performance analysis.
Drive continuous improvements in internal systems, focusing on automation, scalability, and efficiency.
Participate in network provisioning and finance tasks, developing solutions to automate and streamline these processes.
Develop front-end and back-end solutions, ensuring alignment with network operations and telecom vendor interactions.
Support open-source Network Source of Truth (NSoT) initiatives and contribute to development within platforms like Nautobot.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
4 years’ experience with Python: Strong background in Python development, including experience with FastAPI, Django, and SQLAlchemy ORM.
3 years’ experience with Ansible: Solid ability in IT automation using Ansible.
3 years’ experience with version control and collaboration: Regular use of GitHub.
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Demonstrable success developing solutions to drive efficiencies in network operations, inventory management, and cost reductions.
Familiarity with network infrastructure components, such as routers, switches, and network monitoring tools.
Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, finance, and telecom teams.
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Effective communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Willingness to work as a team and pull others up with you as you continue to grow
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about technical and business challenges.
Proficiency with Python programming, including FastAPI, Django, and SQLAlchemy ORM.
Experience with Postgres or other relational databases.
Knowledge of front-end coding (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is a plus.
Familiarity with network technologies, including routers, switches, and monitoring tools.
Hands-on experience with VS Code and related extensions.
Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization.
Experience with Ansible for IT automation.
Ability to think strategically and use sound judgment and initiative in making decisions
Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment, handling multiple initiatives/work streams and leverage best practices
Experience presenting key, strategic technical details to Senior Leadership
Understands and effectively articulates the implications and impact that proposed architectural changes will have on the business (to technical and non-technical audiences)
Proven ability to build, cultivate, and promote strong relationships with internal customers at all levels of the organization, as well as with IT counterparts, business partners, and external groups
Experience working with Agile project management methodologies and tools
Demonstrated experience with DevOps, ITIL, and platform process & technology, with a progressive track record
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
Knowledge of what it takes to deploy and execute software defined infrastructure; and software defined network, software defined WAN, etc...
