Job Summary:
The dispatcher is responsible for dispatching, overseeing and maintaining the status’ of the gantt, giving out appropriate ETA’s, triaging ambulance response, and act as support to customer service representatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be extremely knowledgeable in service area
Give appropriate ETA’s while accounting for type and level of response, traffic patterns, and weather conditions
Prioritize request for ambulance service
Communicate issues to marketing, management, and customers as necessary
Assist EMT’s and Paramedics with directions as necessary
Maintain appropriate status of crews at all times
Oversee function of assistant dispatcher
Delegate additional responsibilities to assistant as necessary
Assist in receiving and entering in request for ambulance or medicar service as necessary
Communicate patient diversions and keep all appropriate associated records
Maintain status records and give appropriate ETA’s for Critical Care Transport as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
*Map reading skills
*Problem solving skills
*Multi-tasking ability
*Effective communication skills
*Previous EMS knowledge required
*EMD license
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the position, the employee is required to sit for long periods of time. Employee will be required to listen to continuous radio traffic, communicate over the radio and telephone consistently, and ability to type is required.
Employee should be able to work under stressful conditions.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee has verbal contact with others and constantly works face to face with and around others. Consistently uses office equipment such as computer, radios, printers, fax machine, ect.
