Job Title: Buyer Planner
Responsibilities
Manage business within established supplier relationships.
Schedule each purchase order to support the production schedule or requisition requirement, maintaining minimal inventory while being responsive to manufacturing and other departmental needs.
Identify and communicate any supplier concerns or opportunities internally.
Support cost recovery initiatives and supplier problem resolution discussions.
Ensure the adequacy and timeliness of supplier corrective action plans.
Coordinate the implementation of cost reduction projects and supplier consolidation.
Monitor cost, schedule, technical, and drawing release status of projects and lead corrective actions as required.
Enter cost changes, assign selected suppliers, and support sourcing projects.
Prepare and solicit requests for quotes and proposals based on the defined commodity strategy.
Essential Skills
1+ years of supply chain experience.
Experience in buying and planning.
Strong negotiation skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems (any system is acceptable, currently using KBM greenscreen).
Experience with requests for quotes (RFQs).
