SUMMARY OF THE JOB:

Reporting to the Head of Specialty Lending & Services the incumbent is responsible for the origination, underwriting, and monitoring of resort finance loans and the sale of participations / syndication interests in these loans to other financial institutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The incumbent reports to the Head of Specialty Lending & Services and is responsible for originating and underwriting resort finance loans in the $5MM to $250MM range. (Larger relationships require putting together participations/syndications.) Analyzes new resort finance loan applications including analysis of financial statements. Selects, recommends, and presents loans for approval to Credit and Loan Committees. Works with attorneys and borrowers to insure proper documentation, and with servicing companies to insure efficient funding and proper reporting of monthly activity. Analyzes delinquency statistics, and identifies potential problem loans. Works with counsel and borrower to resolve delinquent accounts. Conducts on-site inspections of resorts and meets with Borrower management on an annual basis. Maintains effective relationships with existing borrowers, potential borrowers, brokers, attorneys and resort finance servicing companies. Identifies and develops opportunities for new business development. Identifies potential prospects for the sale of large resort finance loans. Makes presentations to these institutions and coordinates all aspects of closing the transaction. Acts as primary liaison with participating/syndicating institution for the duration of the loan. Prepares accurate and comprehensive reports on resort finance portfolio.

Portfolio: $50MM - 250MM

Originate and Underwrite Loans: $5 - 250MM range

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Finance, Business Management, or Economics) preferred; equivalent range of industry specific experience / certification would be considered.

5+ years of business credit and Business credit portfolio management and/or operational risk experience (payments industry experience preferred).

Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements of the banking and resort finance industries.

Proficient in reviewing and interpreting business financials to determine processing risk of business.

Advanced experience with Office & BI products required (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develops and nurtures new client relationships to attain established lending goals and objectives.

Underwrites sound, quality resort finance loans.

Performs thorough and regular inspections.

Recommends appropriate strategies for dealing with problem loans and effectively manages the collection of delinquent accounts and workout of troubled assets, REO process and asset disposition.

Negotiates, sells, and services participation/ syndication interests to other financial institutions.

SECONDARY

Cross-sells other Bank products to resort finance customers with emphasis on DDA and other non-interest bearing accounts.

Efficiently manages an assigned resort finance portfolio to maintain the Bank’s investment criteria ensuring quality underwriting and processing standards.

Keeps abreast of trends and developments within the industry.
