Chief Design Engineer
We are looking for a Chief Design Engineer to join our Target Rock team!
As
our
Chief Design Engineer you will direct design and analysis activities on new design valve and redesign programs. You will coordinate design activities with the Design/Drafting group and Project Engineering. You will also set the standard and perform/oversee design analysis activities within the Engineering department. In addition, you will own the Target Rock PID (Product Improvement and Development) process to both drive innovation and manage the IR&D program to support business growth objectives.
Location: East Farmingdale, NY
Salary/hourly rate: $136,000 to $180,000

Your Challenge
Ensure compliance of designs with the applicable customer provided specifications.
Oversee preparation of design drawings and analysis.
Preparation and review of design reports and analysis.
Standardize and oversee Design Methods and analysis techniques.
Ensure design/development programs maintain budget and schedule.
Prepare technical bid and proposal input for new business opportunities.
Manage and drive innovation activity in the engineering department.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by Manager.
What You Bring
Four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Nuclear)
Master of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Nuclear) (preferred)
Must be a US Citizen.
15+ years of experience in valve design (or similar industry)
Professional Engineering Registration (preferred)
Power Plant Systems training (preferred)
Strong analytical capability, able to perform, but not limited to tolerance/fit-up, structural, fluid, and thermal analyses
Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (Structural, Thermal, Fluid, and Fatigue)
Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Mathcad, LabVIEW, NX, Teamcenter and ANSYS
