Job Summary
PSE&G is seeking a new member for the Technical Training Support team within the Centralized Service organization at our Edison NJ location. The team performs analysis, design, development and evaluation of technical training for PSE&G line of business clients. This position will have a focus on resource planning & scheduling, instructional design, training record data management, and performance reporting.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide leadership and management that results in strong performance across a team of training professionals. The key elements of this role are:
• Plan and schedule the technical training resources needed to meet the demand for trade apprentice and incumbent associate training
• Project manage the instructional design effort across multiple concurrent course update / creation efforts
• Manage training records and performance data reporting
• Manage team within budget for assigned responsibilities using key financial and key performance indicators
• Manage and approve the purchase of learning resources including software, vendor services, and equipment
• Guide and develop team members to grow in their roles
• Must enjoy providing client service, be a team player, have supervisory experience and excel in communicating both verbally and in writing. Project management, high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are critical to success, along with communicating company goals, safety practices, and expectations to the team. The Technical Training Manager motivates, develops and regularly assesses team member performance. Provides help to management, including hiring and training, and keeps management updated on team performance. This position conducts periodic presentations.
• The position requires close collaboration with the Manager Technical Training and internal subject matter experts in support of identifying training needs and resources, as well as building relationships with Electric, Gas, Customer Service, and Asset Management clients. The position works with process owners and process improvement managers across the utility to establish efficient training. Therefore, the position requires strong internal and external relationship building skills and behaviors.
• Must be available in case of a storm or other emergency and will be assigned to duties supporting response efforts.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
:
• BA or BS degree in Business, Education, Instructional Design and a minimum of 5 years of related experience OR a HSD/GED and a minimum of 10-years of equivalent management experience
• At least 7 years of indirect supervisory experience or 5 years of direct supervisory experience
• Demonstrated abilities in the areas of focused, actionable planning, leadership, team building communication, change management along with project and budgetary management
• Instructional experience or working knowledge of instructional design techniques, architecture, and curriculum development
• Skilled in computer applications, including Microsoft 365 software
• Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Desirable
:
• Master’s Degree in Education or Industrial System / Instructional Design
• Project Management Professional certified
• Experience in Learning Management System use and performance data management / reporting
• Process Improvement skills / LSS Green Belt
