This position is a 13-week contract, 32 hours a week, 8 hour Primarily day shift, hours do vary according to the OR schedule and there will be on-call hours. Holidays are normally off unless you are on-call.Job Requirements
Current certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists requiredMinimum one year hospital surgical background preferredHigh School graduate or equivalent (GED)Successful completion of Surgical Technologist Course or equivalent experiencePossess a basic and thorough knowledge of the functions and philosophies of the OR DepartmentDemonstrate knowledge of asepsis and sterile techniquesAbility to work swiftly and skillfully under stressful circumstancesAbility to work with a myriad of physiciansDemonstrate a working knowledge of surgical instruments and equipmentAbility to lift forty (40) pounds from floor to waist, and from chair to bed levelAbility to pull fifty (50) pounds from stretcher to bedAbility to push fifty (50) pound stretcher 300 feetAbility to lift five (5) pounds overheadDemonstrates accurate judgment and decision-making ability consistent with Surgical Technologists knowledge and skillsSchedule Information
