**Job Title:** Registered Nurse

**Shift:** Day 5x8-Hour (06:45 - 15:15)
**Guaranteed Hours:** Client may call off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without paying for the canceled hours.
**Experience:** Minimum 3 years required. Level I trauma experience required.
**License:** Must have active IL license in hand or be in the application process.
**Certifications:** BLS required; CNOR and CST preferred.
**Must-Have:**
- General OR and Trauma experience- Experience with Cerner preferred- Required trauma case skills and experience- Required bariatric and other specific case experiences as detailed below
**Job Description:**
- Work within a 23-room facility.- Weekends required: 1 per month.- On-call duty required: 1/week, though it is not usually that frequent.- Clinician may float within the scope to meet facility needs, though it rarely happens.- Locals must live at least 50 miles from the facility to apply.- Required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.- First-time candidates are not accepted.- Experience in handling various surgical procedures across service lines, except cardiovascular, is required.
**Required Specific Case Experiences:**
- **Bariatric Cases:** Laparoscopic assisted cases.- **General Surgery Cases:** Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Whipple.- **Neurology Cases:** Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion.- **Orthopedic Cases:** Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Open reduction of fractures.- **Plastic Surgery:** Free Flap - Microvascular.- **Transplant Skills:** Organ donation.- **Urology Cases:** Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy.- **Trauma Cases:** Amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries).
**Required Emergency Management Skills:**
- Code response, Fire safety, Latex allergy, Malignant hyperthermia management.
**Required Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies Experience:**
- Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables.
**Required Professional Knowledge and Skills:**
- Administration of blood products, Infection control, Radiation Safety, Specimen Handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time-out) Procedure, Urinary bladder catheterization.
