Location: District Wide Position Summary: Paraprofessionals play a critical role in shaping our students' futures by working closely with teachers to support them in their duties. Works under direct supervision of a teacher to monitor students and perform a variety of clerical and classroom tasks.

Essential Functions:

Assists assigned classroom teachers in conducting instructional programs, directing games and art activities, physical exercise programs and other instructional/developmental activities Distributes and collects materials, sets up classroom for instructional projects and sets up and operates audiovisual equipment Monitors students engaged in drawing, independent study or similar work while teacher is otherwise occupied; oversees small student groups away from classroom or whole class while teacher is temporarily away from the classroom as needed Performs other classroom or school-wide clerical tasks such as preparing, compiling or making copies of instructional materials and reports, typing and filing classroom or student records, or distributing and inventorying textbooks and other instructional materials as assigned Takes attendance and collects forms, proctors exams, and scores objecting tests Assists students with personal and hygienic care Reinforces lessons initiated by the teacher Assists teacher with classroom behavior management Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work assigned by the teacher Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, school staff, and school programs Serves as a source of information to help assigned substitute teachers Participates in in-service training as needed Alerts the teacher of any problem or special information regarding students Skills, Experience & Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required Patience and ability to work with children, young adults, faculty members and parents Sensitivity to physical and mental disabilities and how they affect the behavior of children Other Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to work well with the public Basic knowledge of child growth and development Team player with a positive attitude Willingness to be flexible- assignments change from day-to-day depending on student needs Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time efficiently Caring, compassionate and dedicated to student success Act 34, 151 and FBI clearances required upon employment Schedule:

Monday-Friday during the school year 5.95-6.5 hours per day Salary Information:
