ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Normally a non-rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; however, weekly schedule may vary based on grant and/or operational requirements. May also be required to work weekends and during emergencies as needed.
* Looking to fill two positions. One in the Promotions Division and one in the Prevention Division.
Responsibilities
In accordance with Public Health District Policies and Procedures; administering, directing, evaluating, and writing policies and procedures, and providing training for continuous quality improvement of staff and clinical/program operations of the *Promotions Division of the Public Health District related to Environmental & Consumer Health, 1115 Waiver & Childhood Obesity Programs, Animal Care (County), and also, the *Prevention Division of the Public Health District related to Immunizations, TB Prevention & Control, Women's Health Services, STD/HIV Prevention & Control, Nurse Practitioners, and other related clinical/program operations that may be assigned. Supporting the overall organizational mission: Prevent, Promote, and Protect the Health of the communities served. Leading, motivating, evaluating, and hiring direct reports and divisional staff. Writing, reviewing, negotiating, and securing contracts with various service providers and product vendors to satisfy applicable operational requirements. Writing, applying for, securing, and managing various governmental and/or other types of grants; and overseeing and meeting their related program requirements and objectives. For applicable operations, preparing and managing budgets and financial & accounting reports and transactions for various funding sources and city, county, and health district management: grants, city, county, state, federal, and other applicable sources. May be required to act as an Incident Commander for internal and external events and/or assume leadership/staffing roles during emergencies and disasters; represent the Public Health District by attending, and/or presenting at city council, commissioners' court, and other various public board meetings and community events; oversee HIPAA Compliance, Quality Assurance, Records Retention, Legistar, and other programs as assigned; travel in and out of state to attend various training, educational, and informational seminars and meetings.
Qualifications
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in public health, health sciences, health administration, business administration, or related field. Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. M.P.H. or Master's level degree in a related field is preferable but not required. (3) Years of work related or similar experience is required. Must be able to work effectively and professionally under stressful situations. A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet. Must be certified in basic CPR/AED and First Aid or obtain certifications within 6 months of hire. Successful candidate must agree to comply with Public Health District's Immunizations and TB Testing requirements for staff.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
