Obstetric Nocturnist
The Obstetrics & Gynecology Institute at Cleveland Clinic is a nationally recognized academic Institute with a unique residency program and multiple fellowships. We are currently seeking full-time dedicated staff members to serve as Nocturnists at our East and West suburban hospitals. Located in the Western and Eastern suburbs of Cleveland, Fairview & Hillcrest Hospitals have a busy obstetrics service, with each hospital 4000 -5400 deliveries this year.
The nocturnist is a critical part of our group practice model and assists with perinatal safety at the birth center. The nocturnist will support all established obstetrical practices with care of their inpatients and other related admissions including unregistered or walk-in patients. They will also work in conjunction with other team members as need arises including maternal fetal medicine, laborists, nurse midwives, gynecology, family medicine, and advanced practice providers.
Nocturnists will be on duty for an average of 3 evenings/nights per week, comprised of 14-hour shifts, and work as a team to provide continuous coverage. These shifts will occur regularly Sunday thru Friday. The successful candidate should be board certified and preferably have experience in a busy obstetrical practice. This position balances clinical and academic responsibilities, including supervision of OB/GYN residents and medical students, along with the potential for faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine
