Job Description
As a Systems Engineer you will be responsible for helping to develop a robust processes to identify and qualify system requirements and verify that designs are properly integrated and executed. The focus will be to address all product interfaces and interactions among systems, subsystems, the outside environment, and the customer. Activities will span from technology development of new platforms to introduction of new products to expand the product portfolio as well as sustaining activities through end of product life. This portfolio includes but is not limited to dynamic turbo machinery, magnetic bearings, permanent magnet motors and integrated power electronics.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
• Perform system design activities including: system design specifications, architecture mapping, logic diagrams, system FMEA evaluations, mechatronic system design and customer system integration.• Manage product and system requirements, specification, and flow down• Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.• Responsible for driving risk analysis within the teams.• Responsibilities may include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge• Basic understanding of key business drivers and use of this understanding to accomplish own work.• Role requires good interpersonal skills. Must develop strong relationships to serve as an interface between all product design engineering (Software, Electronics, Mechatronic, Aero/Thermal).Background & Skills
Required (basic) qualifications• Bachelor or post graduate degree of Science in Engineering• Minimum of 3 years engineering experience related systems engineering or mechatronic system design. A post graduate degree in Engineering may be considered with less industry experience• Must be detail oriented and self-motivated• Relocation to Tallahassee, FL is requiredPreferred qualifications• Experience using System FMEA to drive risk based design validation and testing• HVAC industry experience• Turbo machinery experience
