Organizational Unit OverviewThe Department of Physical Therapy, in the College of Allied Health Sciences, offers two degrees: the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) accredited by the Committee for Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), and the PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences - Movement Sciences concentration. Ninety students are enrolled in the 3-year (year-round) DPT program, and typically 3-5 are enrolled in the PhD program. The department consists of 15 full time 12-month faculty, and one other administrative associate position. Faculty are active in teaching, research, service, and clinical care year-round. Tenure-track and tenured faculty have ongoing, extensive research agendas which include externally funded projects and travel to professional meetings to disseminate findings. The department also operates a faculty practice (ECU Physical Therapy Clinic) and faculty oversee the pro bono Student Run Clinic.

Job DutiesThis position will serve as the assistant to the Business Services Coordinator and as the department's front desk contact person. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): answering phone and departmental email, greeting all who enter the department office and directing them as needed, maintaining all office equipment in good working order, assisting faculty with copying/scanning/etc., training graduate assistants and student workers, managing departmental inventory and surplus, managing incoming and outgoing mail and packages, assisting with recruiting and admissions (e.g., information sessions, applications, interviews), managing DPT and PhD student registration (creating courses in Banner, registering students, reserving rooms as needed), assisting faculty and student travel (Chrome River), assisting with purchasing (in PORT and with Procard), assisting with departmental website management/updates, maintaining teaching labs (including equipment and linens), managing departmental Outlook calendars (meetings, exam reviews, teaching lab reservations, etc.), and assisting with clinical education (e.g., updating clinical sites in Exxat software).

Minimum Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/EducationOffice skills (Microsoft Office especially Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel), ECU systems (Banner, Chrome River, DegreeWorks, Port, PETS, Qualtrics, 25Live, TargetX, etc.), electronic health record (EPIC), customer relations (answering phones/email and greeting visitors) and knowledge of Greenphire/ClinCard system.
