Job Title: Corps Center Director FLSA Status: Full Time - exempt Reports to: Corps Officer Schedule: M-F, 9AM-5PM Supervises: All community center staff Rate of Pay: 84,783.61 Annually Closing Date: 11/28/2024 Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following: Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disability insurance Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire) Vacation benefit - 20 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0769 hours for each hour worked (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment) One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-month introductory period of employment) Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan) Function The Corps Center Director for the Denver Red Shield will supervise all community center programs, After School Program, and activities. This position is also responsible for supervising all community center staff, contracted teachers, and volunteers. Duties and Responsibilities The ability to work in a distinctively Christian environment and promote Christian ideals in every facet of the program and ensure the programs and services are being met and ensure evaluations and quality control are met. This position will work closely with and develop relationships and understanding amongst the existing full-time Salvation Army staff. Be involved in engaging the community and learning what services they are interested in and the best method of delivery. Coordinate the usage of the entire facility to maximize its usage and potential, as well as adding new programs to the existing schedule as is necessary and beneficial. Recruiting, hiring and monitoring of all paid and volunteer program staff. Work with the Corps Officers (CO) in preparing an annual operating budget and ensuring that all functional areas are operating within that budget. Provide support and direction for any Red Shield programs and events (e.g. Boxing Shows, concerts, various sporting events...) In conjunction with the CO, develop policy and procedure manuals for staff and facility, develop facility-wide Emergency Action Plans, and develop fee structure and rental rates for the facility, working with pre-existing information. Be heavily involved with the marketing of the facility and its programs. Will have major responsibility for communicating all physical plant needs to the CO to ensure that the facility is functional and safe for all programs. Provide routine program reports to the CO and Advisory Council. The ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule. Able to address multiple projects in a timely manner. Responsive, detail-oriented ability to take projects from beginning through completion. Ability to teach and delegate tasks to other employees to ensure effective time management. The ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner. Able to work with limited supervision, and work in a team setting with other professionals. Exercise good judgment and comfortable taking initiative with projects. This position will work with minimum supervision and that work involves a high degree of independence. They may be required to make independent decisions that may involve unique or unusual situations and/or complex issues and dealing with demanding requests. Performs other duties as required. Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications Minimum five years of progressive full-time management of recreation facilities. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business or other related field is required. Proficient with current software computer programs including Word, Excel, Access, P blisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet, and standard office equipment and systems. If the position requires driving: Must be minimally 21 years of age and possessing a valid Colorado Driver's License. an annual MVR will be processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies. Please note: Continued employment will be contingent on a biennial (every 2 years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
