JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Data Engineer at Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation in Milwaukee, WI will deliver data analytics capabilities using advanced tools, data and technologies within our mortgage insurance and lending environment. Collaborate with Information Governance, Data Science and Data Science Analyst teams to build and maintain reliable and efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) data pipelines using continuous integration approaches. Develop and refine reliable, efficient, and quality data to support sophisticated analytical research, modeling, and data visualizations. Conduct assessments of data engineering code set, stack and procedures, tools, and framework, and identify strengths and limitations from a transparency, computing efficiency, scalability, and reliability perspective. Design, construct, test, and maintain development operations architectures. Collaborate with Information Governance to standardize development, cataloging and documentations for data acquisitions. Utilize SQL and Database Systems and understand massive data processing in a distributed computing environment including Hive/Hadoop, Impala, Netezza, Teradata, Vertica. Work with systems of collaborative code reviews and version control including Git, GitLab, and GitHub. Work with public cloud platforms and their managed services including Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. 100% telecommuting permitted. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Master's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field, plus 1 year of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related occupation. 1 year of experience must include 1 year of experience with each of the following: (1) AWS services, AWS Athena, and Agile frameworks; (2) Snowflake or Databricks; (3) SQL, Python and Spark for data manipulation and analysis; (4) Docker and GitLab for CI/CD processes; (5) ETL tools including dbt, Knime, and Informatica; (6) Tableau and AWS Quicksight for Data Visualization; (7) data modeling in data warehouse and data lakes; (8) creating and maintaining data pipelines and ingesting data into production-ready pipelines; (9) XML, Json, and Parquet for data handling; (10) data processing in a distributed and scalable computing environment; and (11) database management using MongoDB and RDBM.
