Sg2 Recruiting is partnering with Burnt Toast Labs and is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator
to join our team and support mission-critical operations. This senior technical role focuses on the orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of applications and services supporting a major Directorate within the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). This is a hands-on position requiring current technical expertise with Linux and cloud environments. The role involves full-time on-site work in SCIF environments, with flexible hours available.Candidates with advanced skills and experience may be considered for a Senior Technical Specialist role, which includes leadership responsibilities.What You Will Be DoingSystem Administration and Optimization:Maintain smooth operations of multi-user computer systems and coordinate with network engineers.Monitor and manage system resources (CPU usage, disk space, and response times) to ensure efficiency.Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, and resolution.System Security and Maintenance:Provision and harden Linux operating systems, including CentOS, RHEL, and Oracle.Install, configure, and patch systems; apply STIG hardening and security updates.Manage security scans, address vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with system policies.Cloud Environment Management:Work within AWS environments, leveraging console access to provision, maintain, and monitor servers.Perform snapshots, disaster recovery, and performance tuning for cloud-hosted systems.Collaboration and Documentation:Develop and maintain critical documentation, including SOPs, SIPs, SAGs, and Getting Started Guides.Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate vendor products and recommend hardware/software purchases.Enhancing and Automating Workflows:Utilize scripting to install applications and streamline system management tasks.Develop policies and standards for efficient resource allocation.What You Will NeedClearance:TS/SCI clearance with active polygraph within the past six years.Candidates with polygraphs older than six years must be willing to retake and pass before starting.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).At least 10 years of relevant experience is required; additional experience may substitute for a degree.Certifications:Security+ or other IAT II/III-level certifications that are currently active.Technical Skills:Strong Linux experience (CentOS, RHEL, Oracle) with current/recent hands-on expertise.Knowledge of AWS environments, including EC2s, S3, and Elasticache.Experience with installing, patching, hardening, and performance tuning systems.Proficiency in creating and maintaining documentation.If You Have This, It’s a PlusExperience with Agile scrum teams and tools like ElasticSearch.Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, OpenShift, Docker, Keycloak, and Wildfly.Experience managing environments (physical, virtual, and cloud).Knowledge of PKI certificates, SSL, and service accounts.Supporting security audits and testing events.What’s In It For YouCompetitive Compensation:
