The University of Illinois Chicago Office of the Vice Chancellor of Advancement is seeking a diversity of development professionals who are dynamic and results-oriented to join our team as either an Associate Director or Director of Development based on experience and qualifications. Both roles will be pivotal in driving fundraising efforts and building strong relationships with donors and stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping us achieve our fundraising goals and expand our impact in the community. Opportunities exist in the following Colleges: Business, Pharmacy, Law, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Athletics, and the School of Public Health.
Duties:Actively manages a portfolio of major and planned gift donors rated $25,000 and above, employing appropriate strategies and tactics in prospect and portfolio management. This may include individuals, corporations and foundations.Identifies, qualifies, cultivates and solicits alumni and friends in support of unit and University priorities.Meets or exceeds annual performance metrics, including approximately 120 visits per year with UIC alumni and donors to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift donations.Collaborates with the dean, department heads, faculty and other key partners across Advancement and unit to build a compelling case for support.Presents the unit's funding opportunities articulately, persuasively, and with confidence.Prepares and presents proposals to prospects and donors, working with central communications and donor relations when appropriate.Partners with unit leadership, Advancement colleagues, faculty, and volunteers to develop and promote compelling engagement opportunities and relationships with assigned prospects to maximize their financial support of the unit's fundraising priorities.Facilitates and coordinates all communications with assigned prospects and among prospects' University relationships.Tracks development activity and donor interactions by entering key interactions and strategies into the fundraising database.Works closely with director of portfolio management and researchers to review alumni/donor lists in order to identify donor prospects.Assists with the preparation of unit-based events and participates in unit- and University-wide events at which alumni, friends, donors and/or prospects are present.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, Business Administration, Liberal Arts or a related field required.A minimum of 3 years for Associate Director and 5 years for Director of proven and successful experience in development or a related field preferably in an institution of higher learning required.Proven success in securing and conducting face to face meetings for major solicitations.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.Excellent communication, presentation, business development, organization and computer/pc skills are required.Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and fundraising software.
