Primary Purpose of the Organizational UnitThe Division of University Advancement builds and nurtures relationships with loyalty and integrity to promote UNCG's mission, foster communication, and secure philanthropic support.

Position SummaryThe Development Officer of Development will have an understanding of and appreciation for the University Libraries and campus in order to build upon the foundation of its advancement program. This person will deploy experience managing a fundraising program as a confident, creative, enthusiastic and results-oriented development leader. The Development Officer of Development will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting leadership annual gifts, major gifts and stewarding individuals. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing our non-profit's fundraising campaigns, communicating with current and prospective donors, and contribute to a stronger development team for our organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, sales or equivalentStrong organizational skillsAbility to relate to diverse constituencies including identifying, recruiting, training and recognizing volunteersWillingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsWillingness and ability to travelStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to utilize technological resources available to the development staff

Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree preferredThree to five of experience in fundraisingExperience in a public higher education setting
