Hospital in Central Nebraska needs a traveling med-surg RN with Ortho experience.Nurse will need to be experienced in general and Ortho.The position is for twelve hour nights and thirteen weeks in length.Job Requirements
Nurse's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass.Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.Schedule Information
Schedule for twelve hour shifts: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.Weekend Requirement: Every third.Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with permanent staff.Unit Specific Information
Department: Med Surg / Ortho.Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pain medications, antibiotics, blood.Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes.Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:13.Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele boxes. Tele techs will read and interpret.Floating Requirements: MedSurg, rehab, or PCU taking MedSurg acuity.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week.Attributes that help a nurse be successful on this unit are being team oriented, helping teammates, being flexible, taking ownership within the department, and have a willingness to learn.Additional Details
