We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedics team at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our team of orthopedic surgeons and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with orthopedic conditions and injuries.Key Responsibilities:Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments.Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans.Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, including surgical interventions, conservative therapies, and rehabilitation protocols.Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to orthopedic surgery patients, including surgical assistance in the operating room.Perform procedures such as wound care, joint injections, and fracture reductions under the supervision of attending physicians.Educate patients and their families about orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care instructions.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for orthopedic patients.
Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.Current certification as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).Active Maryland state licensure or eligibility for licensure.Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in Orthopedics or a related specialty.Proficiency in orthopedic evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.Strong surgical skills and experience assisting in orthopedic surgeries preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
