Join us as we digitally connect the world and shape the future.The RoleThe Senior Lead Technical Project Manager is a vital position responsible for managing the technical infrastructure of an existing optical network.
This is a critical position which requires strong acumen as well as sound interpersonal communication and technical skills for interactions with customers, contractors, and internal corporate personnel.
This position will report directly to the Sr. Manager Federal Programs and will provide technical leadership and direction to ensure required actions are taken to meet customer requirements.The Main Responsibilities•
Leads a team of operations personnel at three 24x7x365 geographically separate Network Operations Centers (NOC).•
On call 24x7x365 to respond to all network related issues.•
Delivers support to business development through regular customer interface.•
Provides oversight for the day-to-day Network Management/Defense activities and all aspects of NOC operations.•
Participates in the analysis, source selection, acquisition, and installation of hardware, software, and facilities.•
Develops or enhances current policies, procedures or reporting templates, and obtains feedback from all affected groups to meet customer requests.•
Interfaces with network users and customers on status reporting and coordinating downtime for ASIs, PMIs, and exercises.•
Develops and presents professional impromptu and prepared briefings to senior-level military and civilian leaders.•
Composes professionally written documentation to support the diverse operations environment.•
Formulates quick, sound decisions based on experience, established procedures, and available data.•
Assesses and documents subordinate personnel and makes the tough decisions to identify top performers.•
Completes monthly and quarterly metrics.•
Inputs NOC data into PowerPoint and presents at weekly customer meetings.•
Estimated 5% of the time is travel; however, the amount of travel is dependent on the current mission requirement and operations environment.•
Performs other duties as assigned.What We Look For in a CandidateQualifications•
Top Secret security clearance mandatory and current SCI indoctrination is mandatory.•
Prior NOC experience is mandatory.•
Prior Supervisory experience is mandatory.•
Ten or more years of experience in the Information Technology field and five or more years working in a fast-paced operations center environment.•
Previous experience with Government networks and customers.
Education•
Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Defense, or like discipline preferredSkills.•
Ability to work in a high stress environment and collaborate very closely with peers.•
Maintain familiarity with various vendor platforms for optical networks – Ciena, Cisco, Juniper.•
Knowledge of long-haul communications equipment such as SONET, fiber optical multiplexers and DWDM and understanding of LAN/WAN software/hardware technical support.•
