Job Description
REA is seeking a Staff Firmware Engineer for our Infrastructure Power team in Austin, TX, where we develop the most advanced digital power ICs in the industry. You will architect, design, and maintain firmware for integrated circuits that supply power to the largest and most powerful advanced computing platforms. Your contributions will span low level circuits to large system design, and you will see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and verify embedded firmware for digital PWM voltage regulatorsWrite firmware patches to implement new features or apply hardware workaroundWork with marketing and application teams to define firmware requirementsWork with hardware design team to define firmware interfaceWrite specification to document firmware architecture and implementationCreate verification plan to improve quality of firmware releasesWork with validation team to bring up new silicon and debug issues foundCollaborate with cross functional teams across geographyQualifications:8+ years of experience in firmware development on custom SOCs in pre and post silicon environmentBS/MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related fieldExpert at embedded firmware development in C and assembly programming languageGood understanding of software development cycle and version control systemSkillful at interrupt, memory, and performance optimization for real-time applicationsDeep understanding of state machine driven task management and its applicationsExperience working with hardware RTL design in VerilogProficient at Linux command line and a scripting language such as Python/PerlStrong analytical skills and debug methodology with excellent attention to detailPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of ARM cortex M-series processor and ARM compiler toolchainWorking experience with Cadence or Synopsys design tools: SimVision or VerdiSolid understanding of serial bus protocols such as I2C, SPIFamiliar with firmware integration testing on System Verilog based test bench.Experience working with digital PWM voltage regulatorsAre you ready to own your success and make your mark?
