We are currently seeking a seasoned Permanent Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This position presents an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to play a critical role in our company's efforts to navigate the complex landscape of cybersecurity and data privacy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in privacy law, data protection, and cybersecurity, with a deep understanding of the legal, regulatory, and policy issues that arise in these areas. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

As a Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Providing expert legal advice on a wide range of cybersecurity and data privacy matters, including data breach responses, data protection compliance, and privacy policy development.

2. Managing and coordinating responses to data breaches and other security incidents, including conducting investigations, liaising with relevant authorities, and advising on notification obligations.

3. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents related to data privacy and cybersecurity, including data processing agreements, data transfer agreements, and privacy policies.

4. Keeping abreast of developments in cybersecurity and data privacy law, and advising the company on potential impacts and compliance requirements.

5. Training and advising staff on data privacy and cybersecurity issues, and developing and implementing company-wide policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

6. Representing the company in legal proceedings related to data privacy and cybersecurity issues, including litigation, regulatory investigations, and audits.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

2. Admission to the bar in at least one US jurisdiction.

3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal role focused on cybersecurity and data privacy, preferably within a corporate environment or a top-tier law firm.

4. Strong knowledge of data privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations, both domestic and international, including the GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.

5. Proven experience in managing data breach responses and security incidents, including conducting investigations and liaising with authorities.

6. Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills, with a strong attention to detail.

7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and understandable manner to non-legal professionals.

8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

9. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or other relevant certification is a plus.

10. High ethical standards and professional integrity.
