Senior Software Developer/Data Engineer AWS, Python, SQL

Job Summary: Our Fortune 100 Financial Services client is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to assist with critical business initiatives. In this role, you will develop best practices for data movement and transformation, collaborating with multiple lines of business, finance, and technology teams. The role requires solid expertise in Python, SQL, and Spark frameworks, along with a deep understanding of cloud computing, preferably AWS. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with product owners, peers, and end-users to understand business requirements and address issues in a timely manner. • Serve as a technical intersection between business, finance, and technology, optimizing engineering solutions across perspectives. • Provide technical guidance on business implications of application development projects. • Utilize programming skills in open-source languages such as Python and SQL within Spark framework for big data solutions. • Manage multiple responsibilities in an unstructured environment, researching and developing cutting-edge technologies. Required Qualifications: • 6-8 years of relevant experience. • Strong expertise in Python code development and design. • Experience with big data solutions, particularly with Python and SQL on the Spark framework. • Experience in data management, including querying databases and transforming legacy data platforms. • Solid understanding of cloud computing, particularly AWS services like Glue, EMR/EC2, DynamoDB, and Lambda functions. • Test automation experience.
