BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Provides patient/family Home Health respiratory and equipment education in all areas of Home Health respiratory HME care. Coordinates setup/ delivery and education.

Minimum Education:
Associates degree required.
Degree:
Degree in Respiratory Care
License/Certification Required:
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Therapist with current Tennessee State license required. BLS required, PALS preferred.
Minimum Work Experience:
1 year previous Respiratory Care experience required. 1 year pediatric Respiratory Care experience preferred. Home Health HME experience desired.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrates professional judgment, outstanding communication skills, capable of multitasking, attentive to detail, highly organized,flexible and is able to function autonomously. Must have a valid Tennessee Drivers License with class F endorsement DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Always responds to after hours on-call in a timely manner. Accurately completes after hours intake in the appropriate system. Coordinates and plans patient care as required by regulation and/or standard. Generates and coordinates all required documents. Assembles, operates and monitors ventilators. Assembles, operates and monitors cardiopulmonary monitoring devices. Assembles, operates, monitors and teaches all home equipment utilizing age and developmentally appropriate criteria Processes home medical equipment; cleaning, processing, packaging, storing and logging as appropriate following appropriate infection control measures. Performs/schedules preventative maintenance Records all patient care data in the patient record in the appropriate time frame. Provides accurate patient/family education, of home medical equipment including ventilators. Evaluates caregivers' ability and willingness to learn, appropriately and thoroughly documents all teaching sessions in the appropriate system. In the scope of service offered, assesses patient symptoms and problems. Correctly orders and processes home medical equipment and supplies, ensuring that time-sensitive deadlines are met. Correctly completes documentation for supplies/equipment and ensures that the supplies/equipment are delivered to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner. Accurately conducts respiratory treatments and procedures, as prescribed by physician and in accordance with established RC process/procedures in the scope of service offered: In the scope of service offered evaluates accurately assesses and evaluates patient response to therapy. Thoroughly documents and reports findings to the appropriate individuals using the appropriate processes and procedures, ensuring that any critical information is addressed in a timely manner. Promptly responds to emergency situations.Provides appropriate care, as needed, following correct policies and procedures. Maintains work area and vehicle in an organized, clean and efficient manner, meeting all regulatory guidelines and standards. Effectively communicates and interacts with all patients, staff, in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner, as observed by management observation and peer input. Maintains professional composure and confidence during stressful situations. Maintain confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times as observed by management and peers Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Fosters mature professional relationships with fellow employees in a courteous, friendly, manner as measured by management observation and peer input. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter-and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives. Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested Maintains appropriate stock levels of Home Medical Equipment and other supplies in vehicle. Coordinates visits/deliveries to maximize efficiency Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
